About this course
This course is for California BBS licensees and registrants: LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LEP, AMFT, ASW, and APCC. It teaches the core ideas and skills of group therapy, drawing on Irvin Yalom and Molyn Leszcz and on AGPA and ASGW guidelines: the therapeutic factors, screening and composition, process and psychoeducational groups, stages of group development, here-and-now leadership, members who are hard to lead, telehealth groups, and the limits of confidentiality in groups under California law. A composite case follows one co-led process group from screening to its final session. Included in the $69 bundle, or $9 on its own.
CE credit is awarded after you complete the reading, pass the post-test at 70% or higher, and complete the evaluation.
Learning objectives

- Use here-and-now interventions and core leader skills, including linking, blocking, and feedback, and describe effective co-leadership.
- Respond to challenging member patterns and crises in group as both individual and group issues.
- Explain the limits of confidentiality in groups and apply California reporting, minor consent, records, and telehealth requirements to group work.
